- The Siberian is a natural breed of cat, one of the few pedigreed breeds that is. A natural breed is one that has evolved naturally over generations of breeding, often because the cats are local to a specific geographic region. As a natural breed, the Siberian is a robust and healthy breed, suffering from few genetic health conditions.
- Siberian cats are very personable, and generally enjoy the company of their owners, children, dogs and other animals. They are often referred to as "dog-like", because they are quite confident and will follow their owners around the house. Many are confident enough for walks outside on a lead.
